The Building of the new HQ.

Our HQ originally was based on Full Street in Derby in the All Saints Church  House (This was sited next to the River Derwent, hence the word Derwent added in brackets to our name).

In the late 20's we were using Capt Bennett's house and extensive gardens for our meetings. A new housing estate called for the demolition of his house. This gave us the idea to build our own HQ. Reginald Treadgold (The Asst Scouter) was a house agent and civil engineer. He drew up plans for our HQ whilst we bought some land from behind St Giles church in Normanton.

The photo's that you are about to see are all different stages in the construction of our HQ which is still in use today after 70 years.
